The Motocorsa Racing Team and Ryan were very much looking forward to their home round at Cremona at Round 4 of the WSBK Championship. They had a successful day testing there recently, and the team had the bike set up with a good base for the weekend.

After a positive FP1 for Ryan, in FP2, they went the wrong way with a setup change. They got it back towards the end of the session and felt good on used tyres. Ryan and the team had a strategy in place, but weren't able to achieve it.

Qualifying on Saturday didn't go according to plan. Although Ryan was very comfortable on the bike, they didn't get the best out of the tyre with the yellow flags in the session, and they were not able to get a representative place on the grid compared to the race pace.

Starting back down in P18, Ryan had much to do and gained two places before crossing the line in P16. The team had a few changes to make overnight before the Sprint Race on Sunday, but overall, the outcome was positive, with the gap to the leaders again smaller.

On Sunday, Ryan had a positive sprint race. Although he had a tyre issue from lap one, he was still catching the riders ahead, but he ran out of laps to take full advantage. Closing that gap every session boosted the team and gave them an optimistic feeling for Race Two.

Race two didn't go quite to plan, and unfortunately, he crashed out. This was a frustrating end, as Ryan's pace was good, and he didn't get a chance to show his potential.

Ryan Vickers

Summary of my weekend at Cremona: I am so happy about the progress we have made with the bike and my riding. It's feeling more like my bike, and again, learning more every time we go out. We made some mistakes on Sunday. We had a problem with the tyre in the Superpole race, and in Race Two. Then to crash out of the race was disappointing, and it would have been nice to have seen what we could have done, but it's the first race we have crashed out of and one of the only riders not to have crashed so far, this was always going to happen at some point, but we have been really consistent in this side of things. I can't thank the team enough; we must refine our strategies. Get a clean weekend, get a good qualifying, go out at the correct time, and put all we have learnt about the bike together. If we do all that, we can get great results. We leave Cremona with our heads held high. The team is all very happy, as we can now all see the real potential, and we can't wait to get to Most in a couple of weeks.

A massive thank you to all the team's sponsors and suppliers who came along this weekend, it was great to see everyone at the team's home round.

Thanks for all your support!Ryan
